Latest Update on the Bucks Injury Report

The latest update on the Bucks injury report is a sprained MCL for Khris Middleton. He will miss at least two weeks. Brook Lopez and Jrue Holiday are both also out. Both of those players could be suspended. But there are other players the Bucks will have to deal with.

Khris Middleton sprained MCL

The Milwaukee Bucks’ defending champion Khris Middleton has sprained his left MCL. The forward is expected to miss three to four weeks of action. The injury will prevent him from playing in Game 3 of the first-round series against the Chicago Bulls. The team will assess him again in about two weeks. According to the Bucks’ injury report, the forward underwent an MRI and a physical exam by the team’s medical staff.

Jrue Holiday out

With injuries decimating the Milwaukee Bucks’ backcourt, Jrue Holiday has risen to the top and is considered the best player on the team. The 2021-22 season started slowly for Holiday, who had a relatively short offseason and had to deal with two lower body injuries. He averaged just thirteen points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in his first 11 games. His usage rate was 22.9%, the lowest since his rookie season with the Philadelphia 76ers, and his shooting percentage was only 37.8 percent.

Brook Lopez out

The Milwaukee Bucks have kept their injury report on Brook Lopez relatively private. However, the wing is reportedly close to starting five-on-five scrimmages, which is an important first step toward a return to the game. The Bucks are currently over the salary cap and well into the luxury tax, which makes making an in-season acquisition more difficult.

Jrue Holiday faces suspension

Jrue Holiday faces a potential suspension due to an injury sustained in the first game of the season. The Bucks ruled Holiday out of Wednesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets after he suffered a right heel contusion. Holiday had 12 points in 17 minutes before he was sidelined.

George Hill out

The Bucks landed a new point guard in George Hill on a two-year deal. The Bucks desperately need a backup point guard after Jeff Teague and DJ Augustin were ineffective in the Eastern Conference Finals. Hill is 35 years old and had been ranked eighth in the NBA poll this year. However, Hill’s injury has limited his playing time.

Zach LaVine questionable

The Chicago Bulls are downgrading Zach LaVine from probable to questionable for tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. LaVine is still battling soreness in his left knee from an injury suffered in January. The injury has not been serious, but LaVine will need to rest and take it easy against the Bucks. The Bulls are still locked into the playoffs, but are two games out of the seventh seed, which is the equivalent of an NBA Play-In Tournament spot. If LaVine is not able to play, it will have a negative impact on their regular season.
